The Ministry of Fisheries, Aquatic, and Ocean Resources has announced an open competitive examination to fill 115 vacancies for the post of Fisheries Officer Grade III (Associate Officer Service Category). Applications will be accepted online from June 27, 2025, with the deadline set for July 25, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Educational Qualifications: A degree in Biology, Fisheries Science, Marine Science, Food Technology, Economics, Management, or Sociology from a UGC-recognized university.
- Age Limit: Applicants must be between 21 and 35 years as of July 25, 2025.
- Citizenship: Must be a Sri Lankan citizen of excellent character, with no disciplinary actions under Public Service Commission Circular No. 01/2020.
- Physical Fitness: Must be mentally and physically fit to serve in any part of Sri Lanka, including coastal and island regions.
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary Scale: Rs. 31,490 – 54,250 (as per MN 4-2016).
- Permanent & Pensionable: Successful candidates will receive a permanent position with government pension benefits.
Examination Process:
- Written Exam (October 2025, Colombo):
- Intelligence Test (1 hour, 100 marks) – Evaluates analytical and reasoning skills.
- General Knowledge (2 hours, 100 marks) – Covers local/global affairs, with emphasis on fisheries.
- Passing Marks: 40% in each paper.
- Structured Interview (50 marks):
- Evaluates extra qualifications (15 marks), computer skills (15 marks), English proficiency (15 marks), and interview performance (5 marks).
