Department of Posts Job Vacancies for Grade III Postal Drivers

The Department of Posts, Sri Lanka, has invited applications from qualified Sri Lankan citizens to fill 40 vacancies for Grade III Postal Drivers in the Primary Level Skilled Category. The recruitment process will include a practical test and a general interview, with applications due by July 25, 2025.

Key Details of the Recruitment:

Qualifications Required:

• Educational: G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) with six subjects, including two credit passes, in no more than two sittings.
• Professional: A valid Class D Driving License (Heavy Vehicles) issued by the Department of Motor Traffic.
• Experience: Minimum three years of driving heavy vehicles under Class D, post-license acquisition.
• Physical Fitness: Height must be at least 5 feet 2½ inches (157 cm), with medical certification of physical and mental fitness from the National Transport Medical Institute.
• Other Criteria: Applicants must be male, Sri Lankan citizens, and certified by a Grama Niladhari Officer as being of good character.

Age Limit:

Applicants must be between 18 and 45 years as of July 25, 2025. Exemptions apply for current permanent government employees.

Salary Scale:

Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary ranging from Rs. 42,780 to Rs. 66,540, as per Public Administration Circular No. 10/2025.

Recruitment Process:

• Practical Test: Evaluates driving competency (40 marks), traffic rules knowledge (40 marks), and basic motor mechanism understanding (20 marks).
• Interview: No marks awarded; selection is based solely on practical test performance.

• Mandatory passing of the Efficiency Bar Examination within three years of appointment.
