Parliament of Sri Lanka Calls Applications for 10 Vacant Posts

The Secretary-General of Parliament invites applications from citizens of Sri Lanka who are physically sound and of excellent moral character to fill 10 vacant positions on the Parliamentary staff. The vacancies include Junior Assistant Librarian (01 post), Furniture Polisher (01 post), and Food and Beverages Assistant (08 posts).

All positions are permanent, pensionable, and carry comprehensive public sector monthly allowances. Duly prepared applications following the prescribed specimen form must be submitted strictly via Registered Post to reach the Secretary-General of Parliament on or before November 16, 2026.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේ මහලේකම් කාර්ය මණ්ඩලයේ පවතින කනිෂ්ඨ සහකාර පුස්තකාලයාධිපති (පුරප්පාඩු 01), ගෘහ භාණ්ඩ ඔපදමන්නා (පුරප්පාඩු 01) සහ ආහාර හා පාන සහකාර (පුරප්පාඩු 08) යන තනතුරු 10ක් සඳහා සුදුසුකම්ලත් ශ්‍රී ලාංකික පුරවැසියන්ගෙන් අයදුම්පත් කැඳවා ඇත. සම්පූර්ණ කරන ලද ආදර්ශ අයදුම්පත් සහතිකවල පිටපත් සමඟ ලියාපදිංචි තැපෑලෙන් 2026 නොවැම්බර් 16 වන දිනට පෙර පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේ මහලේකම් වෙත යොමු කළ යුතුය.

இலங்கை பாராளுமன்ற செயலாளர் நாயகத்தின் பணியாளர் குழாமில் நிலவும் கனிஷ்ட உதவி நூலகர் (01 வெற்றிடம்), தளபாட மெருகூட்டுனர் (01 வெற்றிடம்) மற்றும் உணவு மற்றும் பானங்கள் உதவியாளர் (08 வெற்றிடங்கள்) உள்ளிட்ட 10 பதவிகளுக்காக தகுதியான இலங்கை பிரஜைகளிடமிருந்து விண்ணப்பங்கள் கோரப்பட்டுள்ளன. பூர்த்தி செய்த மாதிரி விண்ணப்பப் படிவங்களை சான்றிதழ்களின் பிரதிகளுடன் பதிவுத் தபாலில் 2026 நவம்பர் 16 ஆம் திகதிக்கு முன்னர் அனுப்பி வைக்க வேண்டும்.

Vacancy Summary & Salary Structure

Post-Wise Qualifications & Selection Method

1. Junior Assistant Librarian (01 Post)

• Option A: UGC-recognized Degree + Level 1 of a Diploma in Library and Information Science (Vocational diploma waived if degree is in Library & Information Science) + 03 years post-qualifying experience as a Library Assistant in a Public or Parliament Library.
• Option B: Pass G.C.E. A/L in 3 subjects (or 4 subjects in old syllabus) in one sitting + G.C.E. O/L in 6 subjects with credits in Sinhala/Tamil, Mathematics, and English in not more than two sittings + Level II of Diploma in Library and Information Science + 05 years post-qualifying library experience.
• Option C: Pass G.C.E. O/L in 6 subjects with credits in Sinhala/Tamil, Mathematics, and English in not more than two sittings + Level III of Diploma in Library and Information Science + 07 years post-qualifying experience in a Public or Parliament Library.
• Selection Method: Written Test (100 marks assessing duties and responsibilities) + Interview (100 marks evaluating qualifications, IT literacy, experience, communication, and performance).

2. Furniture Polisher (01 Post)

• Option A: G.C.E. O/L in 6 subjects with credit in Sinhala/Tamil and passes in English and Mathematics (max 2 sittings) + NVQ Level 3 Certificate in Carpentry (Furniture Polisher) + minimum 03 years relevant experience in a recognized institution.
• Option B: G.C.E. O/L in 6 subjects with credit in Sinhala/Tamil and passes in English and Mathematics (max 2 sittings) + minimum 05 years practical work experience in furniture polishing in a recognized institution.
• Selection Method: Trade Test (skills assessment) followed by an Interview (100 marks).

3. Food and Beverages Assistant (08 Posts)

• Educational Qualifications: Passed G.C.E. O/L in 6 subjects with credit in Sinhala/Tamil and passes in Mathematics and English in not more than two sittings.
• Vocational Qualifications: Completed a vocational training course of not less than 1-year duration in Basic Restaurant & Bar Service / Food & Beverage Service conducted by SLITHM, NAITA, VTA, or an equivalent recognized institute.
• Experience: Not less than two (02) years of post-qualifying experience in a star-class hotel or recognized establishment as a waiter, steward, or similar capacity.
• Selection Method: Trade Test (Restaurant service skills – 100 marks) + Interview (100 marks).

General Terms of Employment

• Tenure & Pension: All posts are permanent and pensionable, subject to mandatory contributions to the Widows’ and Orphans’ / Widowers’ and Orphans’ (W&OP) Pension Fund.
• Probation / Acting Period: Initial appointments are subject to a 3-year probation period. Permanent, confirmed public/provincial public servants will be appointed subject to an acting period of one year.
• Pre-Appointment Screening: Appointees are subject to a complete medical examination and a mandatory Security Clearance Report prior to issuing appointments.

2. Attach copies of required certificates (do not send originals):
   • Copy of Birth Certificate.
   • Copies of G.C.E. O/L, A/L, and Degree certificates.
   • Copies of Vocational / Professional certificates.
   • Copies of Service / Experience certificates.
3. Candidates currently serving in the Public or Provincial Public Service must channel their applications through their respective Heads of Departments/Institutions.
4. Indicate the post applied for clearly on the top left-hand corner of the envelope.
