University of Kelaniya Launches Diploma in Sinhala for Speakers of Tamil

The Faculty of Humanities at the University of Kelaniya has announced a one-year Diploma in Sinhala for Speakers of Tamil, commencing in June 2023. This initiative aims to promote trilingualism and enhance language skills for professional and daily communication.

Course Highlights

• Eligibility: Open to individuals who have passed the G.C.E. (A/L) examination or an equivalent qualification.
• Key Modules:
  • Spoken and Written Sinhala
  • Practical Writing & Modern Sinhala Literature
  • Sinhala Culture
• Fees: Rs. 50,000 (payable in installments).

Objectives

The program seeks to:

• Improve spoken and written Sinhala for effective communication.
