The Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education has announced the official timeframe for conducting the Efficiency Bar (EB) examinations for officers in the Sri Lanka Teacher Service serving in both national and provincial schools across the island.
Following a special discussion held on June 5, 2026, at the Department of Examinations, officials from the Ministry of Education and the Department of Examinations reached an agreement regarding the examination schedule.
According to the official media release, the Department of Examinations has agreed to conduct the respective Efficiency Bar examinations during the following months of 2026:
- Efficiency Bar Examination I: To be held in September 2026.
- Efficiency Bar Examination II: To be held in October 2026.
- Efficiency Bar Examination III: To be held in December 2026.
This schedule applies to all eligible teachers currently working in national and provincial schools island-wide. Further details regarding the application process and specific examination dates are expected to be released in due course by the Department of Examinations.
