Eastern University MPhil & PhD Admissions 2026 Overview

The Faculty of Graduate Studies at Eastern University, Sri Lanka (EUSL), has officially opened applications for its Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree programs for the 2026 intake. Prospective postgraduate researchers can apply across a wide spectrum of academic disciplines represented by eight specialized Boards of Study.

The programs are offered in English and Tamil media across flexible full-time and part-time registration frameworks.

නැගෙනහිර විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ (EUSL) පශ්චාත් උපාධි අධ්‍යයන පීඨය මගින් මෙහෙයවනු ලබන දර්ශනපති (MPhil) සහ දර්ශනසූරී (PhD) පර්යේෂණ උපාධි පාඨමාලා සඳහා 2026 අධ්‍යයන වර්ෂයට අයදුම්පත් කැඳවා ඇත. කෘෂිකර්මය, වාණිජ හා කළමනාකරණය, ආර්ථික විද්‍යාව, කලා හා සංස්කෘතිය, සෞඛ්‍ය විද්‍යා, විද්‍යා සහ සමාජ විද්‍යා අධ්‍යයන මණ්ඩල යටතේ අයදුම්පත් ඉදිරිපත් කළ හැක.

கிழக்கு பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் MPhil மற்றும் PhD முதுமானிப் பட்டப்படிப்புகள் 2026

இலங்கை கிழக்கு பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் (EUSL) முதுமானி பட்டப்படிப்புகள் பீடத்தினால் நடாத்தப்படும் தத்துவமாணி (MPhil) மற்றும் தத்துவ கலாநிதி (PhD) ஆராய்ச்சி பட்டப்படிப்புகளுக்கான 2026 கல்வியாண்டு சேர்க்கைக்கான விண்ணப்பங்கள் கோரப்பட்டுள்ளன. ஆங்கிலம் மற்றும் தமிழ் மொழிகளில் நடாத்தப்படும் இப்பாடநெறிகளுக்கு பல்வேறு கற்கை சபைகளின் கீழ் விண்ணப்பிக்க முடியும்.

Entry Requirements for MPhil & PhD Programs

MPhil Degree Program Requirements:

• SLQF Level 7 or above qualification in a relevant field.
• Bachelor’s Degree of SLQF Level 6 (Honors) with a minimum of 30 credits in a relevant field (with or without a qualifying exam as determined by the Senate).
• Bachelor’s Degree of SLQF Level 5 with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 0–4 scale) and completion of 30 equivalent credits.
• NVQ Level 7 qualification with a minimum GPA of 3.0, followed by 30 equivalent credits at SLQF Level 6 or 7.

PhD Degree Program Requirements:

• Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree in the relevant field.
• Master’s degree with coursework and a research component comprising at least 15 credits in the relevant discipline.
• Bachelor’s Honors Degree of SLQF Level 6 with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 0–4 scale, subject to Senate approval.
• Upgrading Option: Candidates registered for an MPhil program at EUSL may upgrade to a PhD after 1 year (full-time) or 1.5 years (part-time) based on exceptional research progress.

Application Fee & Submission Instructions

2. Pay the non-refundable application fee of LKR 5,000 to Account No: 227-1001-9-0000390 (People’s Bank) payable to Bursar, Eastern University, Sri Lanka.
3. Prepare your detailed research proposal according to the official EUSL format.
4. Attach certified copies of academic transcripts, degree certificates, birth certificate, and the original payment deposit slip.
5. Submit or post the completed application package to:
