Cabinet Approval for the Revised National Curriculum Framework
The Cabinet of Ministers has granted formal approval to execute the revised National Curriculum Framework under Sri Lanka’s comprehensive education reforms program. Following deliberations on the conceptual paper titled “Transformational Change in Sri Lanka’s General Education” by the Parliamentary Sub-Committee on Education Reforms, the Cabinet finalized the rollout schedule across primary and secondary grades.

අධ්යාපන ප්රතිසංස්කරණ යටතේ සංශෝධිත ජාතික විෂයමාලා රාමුව ක්රියාත්මක කිරීමට කැබිනට් අනුමැතිය
ශ්රී ලංකාවේ ජාතික අධ්යාපන ප්රතිසංස්කරණ වැඩසටහන යටතේ සංශෝධිත ජාතික විෂයමාලා රාමුව ක්රියාත්මක කිරීම සඳහා අග්රාමාත්ය මෙන්ම අධ්යාපන, උසස් අධ්යාපන සහ වෘත්තීය අධ්යාපන අමාත්ය ආචාර්ය හරිනි අමරසූරිය මහත්මිය ඉදිරිපත් කළ යෝජනාවට අමාත්ය මණ්ඩල අනුමැතිය හිමිව තිබේ.
- 1 ශ්රේණිය ක්රියාත්මක කිරීම: 2026 වසරේ සිට 1 ශ්රේණිය සඳහා වන නව විෂය නිර්දේශ රාමුව, ක්රියාකාරකම් පොත්, ගුරු මාර්ගෝපදේශ සහ ඉගෙනුම් සම්පත් මුද්රණය කර ක්රියාත්මක කෙරේ.
- 6 ශ්රේණිය ප්රතිසංස්කරණ: සාමාන්ය අධ්යාපන පරිවර්තනීය රාමුව යටතේ 6 ශ්රේණිය සඳහා වන පළමු අදියර ක්රියාත්මක කිරීම 2027 වසර දක්වා කල් තබා ඇත.
- 2 සහ 6 ශ්රේණි (2027): 1 ශ්රේණියේ 3 වන වාරය, 2 ශ්රේණියේ 1–3 වාර සහ 6 ශ්රේණියේ I, II, III වාර සඳහා විෂය මොඩියුල හා ගුරු මාර්ගෝපදේශ සකස් කිරීම 2027 වසර ඉලක්ක කර ගනිමින් සිදු කෙරේ.
- ගුරු පුහුණුව: ජාතික අධ්යාපන ආයතනය (NIE) මගින් ප්රධාන පුහුණුකරුවන් පුහුණු කිරීම අරඹා ඇති අතර, පළාත් මට්ටමින් සියලු ගුරුවරුන් පුහුණු කිරීමේ සැලසුම් අවසන් අදියරේ පවතී.

தேசிய கல்வி மறுசீரமைப்புத் திட்டத்தின் கீழ் திருத்தப்பட்ட தேசிய பாடத்திட்டக் கட்டமைப்பை நடைமுறைப்படுத்துவதற்காக, கல்வி, உயர்கல்வி மற்றும் தொழிற்கல்வி அமைச்சர் கலாநிதி ஹரிணி அமரசூரிய அவர்களினால் முன்வைக்கப்பட்ட பிரேரணைக்கு அமைச்சரவை அங்கீகாரம் வழங்கியுள்ளது.
- தரம் 1 நடைமுறைப்படுத்தல்: தரம் 1 இற்கான புதிய பாடத்திட்டக் கட்டமைப்பு, செயற்பாட்டுப் புத்தகங்கள் மற்றும் ஆசிரியர் வழிகாட்டிகள் 2026 ஆம் ஆண்டில் நடைமுறைப்படுத்தப்படும்.
- தரம் 6 மறுசீரமைப்பு: பொதுக் கல்வி மறுசீரமைப்பின் கீழ் தரம் 6 இற்கான முதற்கட்ட நடைமுறைப்படுத்தல் 2027 ஆம் ஆண்டு வரை ஒத்திவைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
- தரம் 2 மற்றும் 6 (2027): தரம் 2 இற்கான அனைத்து தவணைக் கற்பித்தல் வளங்கள் மற்றும் தரம் 6 இற்கான பாடத் தொகுதிகள் 2027 ஆம் கல்வி ஆண்டிற்குத் தயார்ப்படுத்தப்படும்.
- ஆசிரியர் பயிற்சிகள்: தேசிய கல்வி நிறுவகத்தினால் (NIE) பயிற்றுவிப்பாளர்களுக்கான பயிற்சிகள் ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதுடன், மாகாண மட்டத்திலான ஆசிரியர் பயிற்சிகளும் திட்டமிடப்பட்டுள்ளன.
Key Decisions Approved by the Cabinet
Based on extensive stakeholder reviews and recommendations from the National Education Commission (NEC) and the NIE Academic Affairs Board, the implementation strategy covers the following key components:
- Grade 1 Rollout (2026): Immediate completion and distribution of finalized activity books, teacher guides, and support materials tailored to early primary competencies.
- Staged Secondary Rollout (2027): Rescheduling Grade 6 reforms to 2027 alongside Grade 2 materials to ensure adequate curriculum alignment and structural readiness.
- Teacher Capacity Building: Comprehensive capacity-building modules led by NIE for master trainers across both primary and secondary fields, with cascade training planned across all provinces.
- School-Based Assessment (SBA) Reform: Formal adoption of the updated School-Based Assessment and Evaluation Guide, backed by endorsements from the National Steering Committee to align evaluation with practical classroom outcomes.
