External Degree Programs (2026/2027) -University of Sri Jayewardenepura

The External Degrees and Extension Courses Unit (EDECU) of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura has officially announced the commencement of student registration for its external degree programs for the 2026/2027 academic year.

Prospective students are invited to apply for a variety of courses offered by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce.

Offered Degree Programs

The following programs are now open for enrollment:

1. Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences

• Bachelor of Arts (General) External Degree
• Bachelor of Social Sciences in Environmental & Development Studies (General) External Degree

2. Faculty of Management Studies & Commerce

• Bachelor of Science in Business Studies (General) External Degree

Application Procedure

The university has moved to a strictly online application process. Candidates must follow these steps to ensure their application is considered:

1. Online Submission: Visit the official portal at external.sjp.ac.lk to complete and submit the digital application form.
2. Required Documents (Scanned): Applicants must upload clear scans of the following documents:
   • Certified copy of the Birth Certificate.
   • Certified copies of Educational Certificates.
   • Certified copy of the National Identity Card (NIC).
   • Proof of payment (Bank receipt or online payment confirmation for the application fee).
3. Hard Copy Submission: After submitting online, a printed copy of the application, along with the physical copies of the above documents, must be sent via Registered Post to the university.
