Calling applications for the Aptitude Test
University Admission – Academic Year 2024/2025
(Based on G.C.E. A/L – 2024)
The University of Sri Jayewardenepura invites applications from suitable candidates from 08.05.2025 onwards for the aptitude test of the above degree program for the 2024/2025 academic year. The candidates who have satisfied the following minimum requirements at the G.C.E. A/L Examination held in the year 2024, and have been pronounced eligible for university admission by the Commissioner General of Examinations are eligible to apply.
Note: Only the candidates who intend to study one of the following subjects at the university as the main area of study should apply.
North-Indian Ragadari music, Vocal, Violin, Sitar, Tabla
Please note that the aptitude test is held only for North Indian Ragadari Music.
- Minimum Requirements
(i) Fulfilling of the minimum requirements for university admission as specified in the Student Handbook: ‘Admission to Undergraduate Courses of the Universities in Sri Lanka, Academic Year 2024/2025 (Based on the G.C.E. A/L – 2024),’ issued by the University Grants Commission.
And
having passed in all three subjects with at least a Credit Pass (C) for Music at the G.C.E. A/L Examination in 2024.
(ii) In addition to the above requirements, candidates should pass the aptitude test conducted by the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
- How to apply:
Candidates should apply online before 22.05.2025 through the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura using the Link; http://fhss.sjp.ac.lk/mct/aptitude-test/.
A fee of Rs. 2,000/- will be charged for the aptitude test. The payment can be made in favor of the Bursar, University of Sri Jayewardenepura to any branch of the People’s Bank to be credited to the account number 097-1-00150005005 at the Gangodawila Branch of the People’s Bank. Applicants should clearly mention the Name and the National Identity Card Number in the payment voucher. Payments through any other modes are not accepted.
The following documents also should be uploaded with the application, and their originals should be produced on the day of the aptitude test.
(i)The bank payment receipt obtained after crediting the payment to the People’s Bank,
(ii) the National Identity Card,
(iii) the G.C.E. A/L – 2024 result sheet (in case of a school candidate, the results sheet should be certified by the school principal, and if a private candidate, by the relevant Grama Sewa Niladari)
- Incomplete applications or applications with false information will be rejected, and the payment will not be refunded.
- All applicants of the aptitude test for the BA Honors in Music of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura should apply to the University Grants Commission separately for university admission.
- Further details of the aptitude test will be published in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences website. http://fhss.sjp.ac.lk/mct/aptitude-test/.
The details of the aptitude test will be notified to the qualified candidates only through e-mails and will not be informed by general post. The aptitude test will be conducted in Sinhala medium (or in English, if required).
