The University of Moratuwa’s Department of Languages has announced the launch of a new course titled “English Language Skills for Employment.” This 20-week program is designed to equip participants with essential English language skills required for the modern workplace.
The course is tailored for individuals who lack confidence in public speaking, job interviews, and professional writing. It also aims to help participants improve their grammar, business communication, and overall fluency in English, thereby enhancing their career prospects.
Course Highlights:
- Speech: Training in presentations, speeches, interviews, negotiations, discussions, brainstorming, and meetings.
- Grammar: Focus on fundamental grammar rules for both speech and writing.
- Writing & Business Communication: Lessons on sentence construction, event descriptions, opinion writing, letter drafting, meeting minutes, memos, emails, project proposals, and formal reports.
The course will adopt an interactive approach, combining group and individual activities to foster practical learning.
