The National Institute of Library and Information Sciences (NILIS) of the University of Colombo has announced the commencement of applications for its postgraduate, diploma, and advanced certificate courses for the academic year 2025/2026. These programs are designed to equip professionals and students with advanced knowledge and skills in library and information sciences, information management, education, and public librarianship.
A wide range of programs are on offer, including:
- MPhil / PhD (2–3 Years) – Rs. 300,000
- Master of Library and Information Sciences (MLIS) (24 Months) – Rs. 268,000
- Master in Information Management (MIM) (18 Months) – Rs. 180,000
- Master in Teacher Librarianship (MTL) (12 Months) – Rs. 120,000
- Postgraduate Diplomas in Library & Information Sciences, Information Management, and other specializations (1 Year) – Rs. 100,000
- Diploma and Advanced Certificate Programs – Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 35,000
Courses will be conducted in English, Sinhala, or Tamil, depending on the number of registered students for each medium.
NILIS emphasizes that completed applications must be submitted before 4th July 2025, with courses scheduled to commence in August 2025.
