SLIATE, operating under the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education, has opened applications for its Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes for 2026. Students who completed G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) examinations in 2025 or preceding years are eligible. Courses are offered across engineering, business, IT, agriculture, and languages, in Full-Time (weekdays) and Part-Time (weekends) modes. Applicants can select up to 10 ATI and HND course combinations based on preference.
🎯 Selection Criteria
Category I: Z-Score Based Selection
Courses: HNDA, HNDBA, HNDBF, HNDE (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics), HNDQS, HNDBSE, HNDT (Agriculture), and HNDFT. Selection is based on academic merit determined by the G.C.E. (A/L) Z-score.
Category II: Marking Scheme Based Selection
Courses: HND in English, HNDIT, HNDM, HNDPM, and HNDTHM. Selection is carried out using SLIATE’s defined marking scheme.
Note: Priority is given to applicants who passed the G.C.E. A/L exam in 2025 and are below 23 years of age as of the closing date.

Part-Time Programmes
HNDA & HND in English: Rs. 17,000/= per semester
HNDIT: Rs. 30,000/= per semester
Refundable Deposit: Rs. 10,000/= (10% discount if paid as a lump sum at registration)
Hostel Facilities
Limited hostel facilities available for full-time students on request. ATI Dehiwala & Gampaha: Female students only. ATI Ampara & Colombo: Both male and female students.

- Online Registration: Visit apply.sliate.ac.lk and review the official Admission Guidelines carefully.
- Pay Application Fee: Pay Rs. 1,000/= via the GovPay feature on your bank app — select GovPay → Sri Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education → Application Fee. Payments can also be made at People’s Bank (Account No: 019100203397613 at Dehiwala or any branch).
- Submit Payment Confirmation: Email the payment receipt to [email protected] and enter the Transaction Reference Number (TRN) into your online application portal.
- Post Hard Copy: Download the system-generated hard copy of the completed application, sign it, attach the bank receipt, and send it via Registered Post to your 1st preferred ATI.
⚠️ Key Terms & Important Instructions
- Closing Date: Applications submitted after August 3, 2026, will not be accepted.
- University Admission Impact: Enrolling in full-time HND programmes lasting 3 years or longer (e.g., HNDA, HNDE, HNDM, HNDTHM, HNDT-Agri) makes a student ineligible for university admission under the University Act No. 16 of 1978.
- Location Preference: Applicants are strongly advised to apply to the ATI nearest to their permanent address to minimize living and accommodation costs.
