The degree is offered through the university’s Unit of Postgraduate, External Degrees and Extension Courses.
✅ Eligibility / Minimum Entry Qualifications
Applicants must fulfill at least one of the following entry criteria:
A/L — Traditional Route
Passed G.C.E. A/L with university entrance qualification, passing at least one subject among Buddhism, Buddhist Civilization, Pali, Sanskrit, or Sinhala, and obtained a minimum of 30 marks in the Common General Test.
A/L — General Route
Passed G.C.E. A/L in any stream with university entrance qualification and minimum 30 marks in the Common General Test, AND a Credit pass (C) for Buddhism at O/L OR passed the Daham Pasal Final Examination.
Oriental Studies
Passed the Pracheena Intermediate Examination (Pracheena Madhya) in all three languages.
Other Recognized Qualifications
Any other examination recognized by the Senate of the Bhiksu University of Sri Lanka.
