Here is the National Fuel Pass Update Sri Lanka 2026. Sri Lanka has reintroduced the National Fuel Pass system with QR codes to manage fuel distribution across the country. The system became mandatory from March 15, 2026, following concerns about fuel supply disruptions and rising demand.

The updated system ensures that fuel is distributed fairly among vehicle owners and prevents hoarding during periods of limited supply. If you are a vehicle owner in Sri Lanka, understanding the latest Fuel Pass rules, registration process, and fuel quotas is essential.

This article explains everything you need to know about the National Fuel Pass Update Sri Lanka 2026

What is the National Fuel Pass System?

The National Fuel Pass is a QR code–based digital fuel rationing system introduced by the Sri Lankan government to regulate fuel distribution.

Under this system:

  • Each vehicle must register online
  • A QR code is issued for that vehicle
  • Fuel stations scan the QR code before issuing fuel
  • Drivers receive a weekly fuel quota

This system helps prevent long queues, hoarding, and illegal fuel resale.
