The Muslim School Development Unit of the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education has officially released the Muslim Schools Calendar for the latter part of 2025 and the First Term of 2026.
The calendar has been issued in accordance with the Secretary’s Letter No. ED/09/12/06/05/01–2025 dated 09 December 2025, and applies to all Muslim schools island-wide.
Third Term – Second Phase (2025)
- Period: 16 December 2025 to 02 January 2026
- Total School Days: 14 days
- December: 12 school days
- January 2026: 2 school days
Special Notes:
- 25 December 2025 (Thursday): Christmas Day – Public, Bank and Mercantile Holiday
- 27 December 2025 (Saturday): Declared as a school day
First Term – 2026
The First Term of 2026 is structured into four phases:
First Phase
- Period: 05 January 2026 to 09 January 2026
- School Leave:
- From 10 January 2026 to 20 January 2026 for completion of remaining subjects of the GCE A/L Examination – 2025
Second Phase
- Period: 21 January 2026 to 13 February 2026
- School Leave:
- From 14 February 2026 to 22 March 2026 for the Holy Month of Ramazan and GCE O/L Examination – 2025
Third Phase
- Period: 23 March 2026 to 10 April 2026
- School Leave:
- From 11 April 2026 to 19 April 2026
Fourth Phase
- Period: 20 April 2026 to 30 April 2026
- School Leave:
- From 01 May 2026 to 03 May 2026
The calendar has been signed and approved by Major N. T. Nasumutheen, Director of Education, Muslim Schools Development Branch.
