Advanced Certificate in Science (2026/2027) – OUSL

The Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) has officially announced the commencement of admissions for the Advanced Certificate in Science – 2026/2027 intake, conducted by the Faculty of Natural Sciences.

This programme is designed to provide a strong foundation in science and offers pathways to higher education in science and technology-related degree programmes.

Admission Requirements

• Over 18 years of age
• At least six (06) passes at the G.C.E. (O/L) examination, including Mathematics and Science, or an equivalent local/foreign qualification recognized by a university or institute
• Any other equivalent or higher qualification acceptable to the Senate

Programme Highlights

• Two-year programme consisting of 60 credits
• Option to complete in one year for students who pass the selection test (Science stream only)
• Academic activities conducted online in Sinhala, English, and Tamil
• After completion, students can apply for various Bachelor of Science and Engineering-related degree programmes offered by OUSL, subject to eligibility
