The Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government has officially issued the circular (No. 02/2025) outlining the procedures for Annual Transfers of Officers in Combined Services 2026.
According to the announcement, all annual transfers will take effect from January 1, 2026. The transfer process applies to officers in the following services:
- Government Translators’ Service
- Sri Lanka Information and Communication Technology Service
- Development Officers’ Service
- Sri Lanka Government Librarians’ Service
- Management Assistants’ Service
- Combined Drivers’ Service
- Office Employees’ Service
Key highlights of the circular include:
- Eligibility: Officers who have completed more than 2 years at a single station are eligible to apply. Those who have served over 5 years at the same department or in designated priority service stations are subject to mandatory transfers.
- Priority Stations: Departments such as Inland Revenue, Immigration & Emigration, Excise, and others have been categorized as priority service stations due to high request volumes for these locations. Officers serving in such stations for over 5 years will be transferred without exception.
