The Ministry of Environment of Sri Lanka invites students, young creators, photographers and the general public to showcase their creativity under the theme “Story of Nature through Lens.”

சுற்றுச்சூழல் அமைச்சு “Story of Nature through Lens” என்ற கருப்பொருளின் கீழ் 2026 ஆம் ஆண்டிற்கான SOBA CHALANA குறும்படப் போட்டி மற்றும் SOBA SEYA சுற்றுச்சூழல் புகைப்படப் போட்டியை அறிவித்துள்ளது. மாணவர்கள், இளம் படைப்பாளிகள் மற்றும் புகைப்படக் கலைஞர்கள் தங்கள் படைப்பாற்றலை வெளிப்படுத்த இது ஒரு வாய்ப்பாகும். படைப்புகளை சமர்ப்பிக்க இறுதி தேதி 2026 அக்டோபர் 10 ஆகும்.

🎬 SOBA CHALANA — Short Video Competition 2026
- Categories: Open Category, School Category
- Max duration: 2 minutes
- Topics: Environmental events, climate change, biodiversity, environmental pollution and other related environmental themes
- Formats: Fiction, Documentaries, Animations
- Languages: Sinhala, Tamil or English (Sinhala/Tamil dialogue must include English subtitles)

📸 SOBA SEYA — Environment Photography Competition 2026
- Category: Open Category
- All photographs must have been taken within Sri Lanka
- Maximum of three (03) photographs per participant
- Submit via email, along with name, address, telephone number and date of birth
- Only unedited original digital photographs accepted
- Colour and black-and-white photographs both accepted
- Format: JPG or JPEG, minimum resolution 2000 pixels

🏆 Prizes
Winners of both competitions will receive souvenirs, certificates and cash prizes.
🎓 Free Awareness Workshop (Short Video Participants)
- A free one-day awareness workshop on short video creation will be held for Short Video Competition participants, featuring contributions from experts in the field.
