The Ministry of Education has announced the school reopening schedule for the final step of Term 1 and the commencement of Term 2 for all government schools.
All Sinhala, Tamil, and Muslim schools will resume academic activities for the final phase of Term 1 on Monday, 21st April 2025.
Term 01 – Step 03 Period:
- Sinhala and Tamil Schools: 21 April 2025 to 09 May 2025
- Muslim Schools: 21 April 2025 to 23 May 2025
Following the conclusion of Term 1, the second school term will begin on the following dates:
Term 02 – 2025:
- Sinhala and Tamil Schools: 14 May 2025 to 07 August 2025
- Muslim Schools: 28 May 2025 to 19 August 2025
