PGDE Application 2025 – University of Peradeniya

The Postgraduate Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences (PGIHS) at the University of Peradeniya is now accepting applications for the Postgraduate Diploma in Education PGDE (Weekend Program) 2025. The program is offered in Sinhala, English, and Tamil mediums and the Closing date is 15.02.2025

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must:

• Be graduates of a recognized university.
• Have at least one year of teaching experience.

Additional Considerations:

• Priority will be given to academic staff or administrative officers working in educational institutions, including recognized private-sector schools.
• In the event of excess applications, a written examination will be conducted. Preference will be given to candidates scoring the highest marks.

Application Process:

To obtain an application form:

1. Payment: Credit Rs. 2,000 to the PGIHS account number 057 1001 6002 7421 at the University of Peradeniya. Include your name and address on the bank slip and submit it to PGIHS.
2. Postal Submission: Send a self-addressed stamped envelope (22 cm x 10 cm) valued at Rs. 110 with the payment slip to:
   • The Senior Assistant Registrar, PGIHS, University of Peradeniya.
3. Online Access: Alternatively, the application can be downloaded from the PGIHS website at www.pgihs.ac.lk.

Course Fees:

• Total Fee: Rs. 107,000
  (Includes Rs. 5,000 registration fee, Rs. 100,000 course fee, and Rs. 2,000 library deposit).
• Payment can be made in two installments before the examinations.
• The library deposit of Rs. 2,000 is refundable upon completion of the program
