The University of Colombo, has announced that applications are now open for the MPhil/PhD 2026 – Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes (SLQF Level 11/12) – 2026 intake. The deadline for applications is 30th September 2025.
Admission Requirements
Applicants are required to possess one of the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Honours degree (SLQF Level 06) with First or Second Class Upper Division and at least 30 credits in the relevant field.
- A Bachelor’s degree (SLQF Level 05) with relevant postgraduate qualifications and a substantial research component.
- A two-year full-time Master’s degree with a research component (SLQF Level 10).
- Any other Master’s degree (SLQF Level 09) with a research component in the relevant field.
Additionally, candidates must demonstrate good English proficiency and pass a selection test and/or interview.
