Bachelor of Agro-Technology Honours (18th Intake – 2026) Overview
The University of Colombo Institute for Agro-Technology and Rural Sciences (UCIARS), Weligatta, has officially opened applications for the 18th Intake (2026) of the Bachelor of Agro-Technology Honours degree programme. This 4-year degree is offered by the University of Colombo and provides pathways for full-time students, part-time working professionals, agriculture entrepreneurs, and diploma holders.
Applications can be submitted online via the official student information management system, with hard copies submitted by post on or before 03 December 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
- Three passes in G.C.E. A/L in Science or Technology Stream subjects.
- Three passes in G.C.E. A/L in any subject stream with at least 03 years of experience in the field of Agriculture; OR
- Passed in G.C.E. O/L in six subjects including Science and Mathematics with at least 05 years of experience in the field of Agriculture; OR
- Any other qualifications accepted by the Senate of the University of Colombo.
- Applicants who have completed a Diploma (NVQ 5) or Higher Diploma (NVQ 6) in Agriculture from recognized institutes can enter directly into the 2nd year or 3rd year (after completing a bridging course).
Selection Procedure
- Students applying under the basic qualifications of full-time and part-time categories must pass the selection examination conducted by the institute.
- The selection examination is not applicable for Diploma and Higher Diploma applicants.

- Application Fee: Deposit Rs. 1,500/- to Account No. 007100130005888 at People’s Bank, Hambantota branch.
- Online Submission: Apply online through https://sims.cmb.ac.lk/uciars/.
- Hard Copy Posting: Send the printed application along with the original bank deposit slip to:

කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්යාලයේ කෘෂි තාක්ෂණ හා ග්රාමීය විද්යායතනය (UCIARS) මඟින් පිරිනමනු ලබන වසර 04 ක කෘෂි තාක්ෂණවේදී ගෞරව (Bachelor of Agro-Technology Honours) උපාධි පාඨමාලාවේ 18 වන කණ්ඩායම සඳහා අයදුම්පත් කැඳවා ඇත.
- පූර්ණකාලීන (ඉංග්රීසි මාධ්යය): අ.පො.ස. (උ/පෙළ) විද්යා හෝ තාක්ෂණවේදය විෂය ධාරාවෙන් විෂයයන් 03 ක් සමත්වීම.
- අර්ධකාලීන (සිංහල / ඉංග්රීසි මාධ්යය): ඕනෑම විෂය ධාරාවකින් උ/පෙළ සමත් වී කෘෂිකාර්මික ක්ෂේත්රයේ වසර 3 ක පළපුරුද්දක් තිබීම, හෝ සා/පෙළ විද්යාව හා ගණිතය ඇතුළුව විෂයයන් 6 ක් සමත්වී වසර 5 ක කෘෂිකාර්මික පළපුරුද්දක් තිබීම.
- NVQ 5 හෝ 6 ඩිප්ලෝමාධාරීන්: පිළිගත් කෘෂිකාර්මික ඩිප්ලෝමාවක් සහිත අයට 2 වන හෝ 3 වන වසරට ඍජුවම ඇතුළත් විය හැක.
- අයදුම්පත් භාරගන්නා අවසාන දිනය: 2026 දෙසැම්බර් 03
கொழும்புப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் விவசாய தொழினுட்பவியல் கௌரவப் பட்டப்படிப்பு (18 ஆவது அனுமதி – 2026)
கொழும்புப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் விவசாய தொழினுட்ப மற்றும் கிராமிய விஞ்ஞான நிறுவகத்தினால் (UCIARS) நடாத்தப்படும் 4 வருட கால விவசாய தொழினுட்பவியல் கௌரவ (Bachelor of Agro-Technology Honours) பட்டப்படிப்பிற்கான 18 ஆவது மாணவர் அனுமதிக்கான விண்ணப்பங்கள் கோரப்பட்டுள்ளன.
- முழுநேரம் (ஆங்கில மொழிமூலம்): க.பொ.த. (உ/த) பரீட்சையில் விஞ்ஞான அல்லது தொழினுட்பப் பாடத்துறைகளில் 3 பாடங்களில் சித்தியடைந்திருத்தல் வேண்டும்.
- பகுதிநேரம் (சிங்களம் / ஆங்கில மொழிமூலம்): ஏதேனும் ஒரு பாடத்துறையில் உ/த சித்தியுடன் விவசாயத்துறையில் 3 வருட அனுபவம், அல்லது சா/த பரீட்சையில் விஞ்ஞானம், கணிதம் உட்பட 6 பாட சித்தியுடன் விவசாயத்துறையில் 5 வருட அனுபவம்.
- டிப்ளோமாதாரிகள்: விவசாயத்துறையில் NVQ 5 அல்லது 6 தகைமையுடையவர்கள் 2 ஆம் அல்லது 3 ஆம் வருடத்திற்கு நேரடியாக விண்ணப்பிக்கலாம்.
- விண்ணப்பிக்கும் இறுதித் திகதி: 03 டிசம்பர் 2026

- Applicants under basic qualifications must sit for the selection examination conducted by the institute.
