The Ministry of Education has announced the commencement of the National Mental Health Awareness Week – 2025, which will be held from October 10 to 16, 2025, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Department of School Health.
The initiative aims to promote mental well-being among students, teachers, and parents by encouraging open discussion on psychological health, stress management, and emotional resilience. The campaign will run under the theme “Access to Services – Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies”, emphasizing the importance of support systems during crises.
During this week, all schools are instructed to organize awareness programs, discussions, and activities under the guidance of school counseling units and health clubs. These include interactive sessions titled “Dear Me”, letter-writing to oneself for reflection, displaying positive messages through sticky notes, and promoting friendship-building exercises among students. The program also encourages art, drama, and poster competitions focused on mental health awareness.
Schools must submit their activity reports by October 21, 2025, to the email address counseling.moe@gmail.com. The Ministry stresses that the collective effort of schools will help cultivate a culture of understanding, empathy, and mental resilience among the younger generation.
