The Government of Sri Lanka has declared the period from 25th September to 1st October 2025 as the “Children’s Day National Week”, in line with the global observance of World Children’s Day on 1st October. This initiative, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers, is conducted under the theme “Aadarayen Surakinna – Apata Lowa Dinannta” (Protect Us with Love – To Win the World), with the collaboration of multiple state institutions under the guidance of the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs.
The national commemoration programme is being organized in partnership with the Department of Probation and Child Protection Services, along with the participation of key ministries, authorities, and law enforcement agencies. The programme focuses on safeguarding children’s rights, health, education, and overall well-being.
