The Faculty of Agriculture and Plantation Management at Wayamba University of Sri Lanka has announced applications for admission to its B.Sc. Agriculture (Honours) Degree Programme under the Special Entry Scheme for the 2024/2025 academic year.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be permanent employees in government institutions related to agriculture, plantations, or allied sectors and satisfy the following requirements:
Diploma Qualification
Candidates should possess a two-year Diploma in Agriculture from a recognized institution, including:
- Schools of Agriculture under the Department of Agriculture
- Advanced Technological Institutes (SLIATE)
- Technical Training Institute (TTI), Katunayake
- Vocational Training Authority (VTA)
- Other institutions recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education
- National Diploma in Plantation Management offered by NIPM, Athurugiriya
Academic Qualifications
G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L)
- Six passes in one sitting, including credit passes for Science and Mathematics.
G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L)
Old Syllabus
- Passes in at least three subjects from Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Physics, Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or Agriculture.
New Syllabus
- Passes in all three subjects in one sitting with a Z-score above zero from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Combined Mathematics, or Agriculture streams.
Work Experience
Applicants must have completed a minimum of five years of service as a permanent government employee in agriculture, plantation, or related sectors after obtaining the diploma qualification.
Age Requirement
Applicants must be below 40 years of age on the application closing date.
Selection Process
Eligible applicants will be required to sit for an entrance examination. A limited number of candidates will be selected for admission to the programme.
