The Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) has announced that applications are now open for the Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) Programme for the academic year 2026/27. The programme is offered exclusively through online applications, with the aim of providing flexible access to teachers and education professionals across the country.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree of at least three years, with a minimum of 90 course credits at SLQF Level 5 or above from a recognized university,
OR possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the OUSL Senate. - Be employed in the education sector, such as:
A teacher or principal of a recognized school
An in-service advisor
A teacher educator
An officer in the Sri Lanka Education Administrative Service (SLEAS)
A full-time member of an academic staff of a university, National College of Education, Technical College, or Teacher Training College
A manager of a Teacher Centre
A lecturer in the National Institute of Education
Other professionals in the education field recognized by the OUSL Senate
