In a significant step towards enhancing the quality of Hindi language education in Sri Lankan government schools, the High Commission of India in Colombo, in collaboration with the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, has announced a three-week intensive training programme for government-employed Hindi language teachers.
Scheduled tentatively for May–June 2025, the training will take place at the prestigious Central Institute of Hindi in Agra, India. The programme will focus on modern pedagogical techniques, updated teaching methodologies, and the effective use of educational resources to empower educators with contemporary teaching skills.
The Government of India will cover accommodation, meals, tuition, and local transportation during the stay in India. However, selected participants are required to bear their own airfare to and from India.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must possess a degree with Hindi as a subject
- Must be currently employed as a Hindi language teacher in a government school
- Must have relevant teaching experience
