Admissions for Full-Time Courses 2025 – Ceylon German Technical Training Institute (CGTTI)

The Ceylon German Technical Training Institute (CGTTI), Moratuwa, under the Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education, has announced admissions for full-time courses under the National Apprenticeship Scheme for the year 2025. Applications are invited from eligible male and female candidates who meet the specified qualifications.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Age Requirement: Applicants must be between 16 and 22 years of age as of August 18, 2025.
2. Educational Qualification:
   • Passed 06 subjects at the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in one sitting, including Sinhala/Tamil (medium) and Mathematics.
   • OR
   • Passed 06 subjects at the London (O/L) Examination in one sitting, including English and Mathematics.
3. Special Skills Consideration: Candidates who have secured top three positions in provincial-level competitions or received merit certificates in national competitions (Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical fields) from the Sri Lanka Inventors Commission may apply, provided they meet the educational qualifications within two attempts.

Note: Candidates bonded with the National Apprentice & Industrial Training Authority (NAITA) for three or more years are ineligible.

Course Details

The institute offers the following full-time courses:

Medium of Instruction:

• Sinhala (all courses), Tamil (Automobile only). Theoretical lectures will also be conducted in English.

Admission Process

1. Entrance Examination:
   • Medium: Sinhala/Tamil.
   • Centers: Colombo, Kandy, Galle, Badulla, Anuradhapura, and Vavuniya.
   • Subjects: Mathematics, General Knowledge, Intelligence Test, Technical Knowledge, English, and Technical Drawing.
   • Fee: Rs. 1000/- (non-refundable), payable online.
2. Primary Selection: Based on written exam merit. Cutoff marks for underprivileged provinces will be decided by CGTTI.
3. Final Selection:
   • 40% weightage for aptitude test, 60% for interview.
   • Extracurricular achievements will be considered.
   • Selected candidates must pass a medical examination.

  • G.C.E. O/L certificate.
  • Special skills certificates (if applicable).
