University Admission 2025/2026 – All Updates

The University Grants Commission Sri Lanka has officially announced the opening of applications for University Admission 2025/2026. Eligible candidates who sat for the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination in 2025 can now prepare to apply for undergraduate degree programmes offered by state universities across Sri Lanka.

📅 Application Period

Applications will be accepted during the following period:

• Opening Date: 28 April 2026
• Closing Date: 19 May 2026

Applicants are strongly advised to submit their applications before the deadline, as late submissions will not be accepted under any circumstances.

🎓 Minimum Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for university admission, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Obtain at least ‘S’ grades in all three approved subjects
• Results must be achieved in a single sitting
• Must be within a maximum of three (03) attempts
• Score at least 30% for the Common General Paper

Only applicants who fulfill all the above requirements will be considered for admission.

📘 University Admission Handbook 2025/2026

The official University Admissions Handbook is now available for candidates at a cost of Rs. 1000 through the following methods:

• From the UGC Office
• From authorized distributing agents (bookshops)
• By post

The handbook contains comprehensive details on course selection, admission criteria, and application guidelines.
