National School Teacher Transfer 2025 – New Updates

The Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education has officially released the 2025 annual and compulsory transfer orders for national school teachers specializing in specific subjects. Starting today, April 27, 2026, teachers can access these orders online.

Affected Subjects

The transfer orders currently available for viewing apply to teachers of the following subjects:

• Business Statistics
• Islam (O/L)
• Christianity (A/L)
• Arabic (O/L & A/L)
• Christian Civilization

Accessing Transfer Orders

Teachers can view their transfer status by logging into the official portal at nstt.moe.gov.lk and selecting the “Login as a teacher” option. The Ministry clarified that if a teacher receives a new 2025 transfer order while a previously issued or extended order was still pending, the earlier order is now considered void.

Appeals Process and Deadlines

Teachers who are dissatisfied with their transfer decisions may submit an appeal to the Annual Transfer Review Committee. The Ministry has outlined the following timeline for the appeals process:

• Online Submission: Appeals must be completed online via nstt.moe.gov.lk between April 27, 2026, and May 11, 2026.
• Physical Documentation: A printed copy of the appeal, along with necessary attachments, must be handed over to the Principal of the teacher’s current school by May 12, 2026.
• Principal’s Recommendation: School Principals must enter their recommendations into the system by May 12, 2026.
• Final Submission to Ministry: Principals are required to deliver the printed applications and the TTB/APPEAL LIST to the Teacher Transfer Branch of the Ministry by May 14, 2026, either in person or via registered post.
