🎓 Courses Offered Under Special Sports Intake
- Sports Science & Management – Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka & University of Sri Jayewardenepura
- Sports Science – University of Kelaniya
- Physical Education – Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka & University of Jaffna
These programmes aim to nurture talented athletes by combining academic knowledge with professional sports training.
🏅 Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must demonstrate outstanding performance in sports at national or international level. According to the UGC:
- Participation or medal achievement at the Olympic Games.
- Winning Gold, Silver, or Bronze medals at the Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, or SAARC Games.
- Representation of Sri Lanka as a national team member in recognized international competitions.
📚 Important Requirement
All selected candidates under this special category are required to complete a foundation course conducted by the Open University of Sri Lanka before starting their degree programme.
