The University Grants Commission, having convened its 1174th Commission Meeting on July 8, 2026, recognized the vital importance of protecting student privacy, personal dignity, and emotional well-being. Accordingly, the Commission has advised higher education authorities as follows:

  • Direct Result Communication: All universities, higher educational institutions, and affiliated institutes are advised to consider adopting an appropriate mechanism to communicate competitive examination results directly and privately to individual students.
  • Limiting Public Exposure: Institutions are instructed to limit the open and public disclosure of examination results where appropriate.
  • Statutory Compliance: All changes to result dissemination procedures must comply strictly with prevailing laws, internal university policies, regulations, and statutory provisions.
