The Ministry of Education has announced the opening of a second round of appeals for Grade 6 school admissions, based on the results of the 2024 Grade 5 Scholarship Examination. This appeal process aims to fill remaining vacancies in schools after the conclusion of the first round of admissions and the initial appeal stage.
Parents and guardians are advised to pay close attention to their child’s scores and the cut-off points determined for each school when submitting their appeal requests.
Key Guidelines for Second Round Appeals:
- Online Submission Only: All appeal applications must be submitted online. The Ministry explicitly stated that appeals sent via post or submitted in person will not be considered. This online-only submission is crucial as student selection based on appeals will be conducted exclusively through an online program.
- School Choices: Applicants can apply to a maximum of three schools. However, it is also possible to apply to just one or two schools if preferred.
- Selection Process: When schools are allocated, the student will be assigned to a school based on the order of the cut-off points of the schools they have applied to. In cases where schools have equal cut-off points, the student will be selected for the first school in alphabetical order of the school names.
- Vacancy-Based Admission: Students will only be sent to schools if vacancies are available on the date of selection, and admissions will be limited to the number of existing vacancies.
