English Language Courses 2025 – Buddhist and Pali University

The Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka has announced that applications are now open for its English Language Courses 2025. Interested candidates can submit their applications until April 30, 2025.

The university offers four levels of English courses:

• Certificate Course in English – Open to individuals over 16 years of age with at least a Grade 9 qualification.
• Advanced Certificate Course in English – Available to those who have completed the university’s Certificate Course or passed the G.C.E. (O/L) exam along with a placement test.
• Diploma in English (SLQF Level 3 – 30 Credits) – Applicants must have completed the Advanced Certificate Course, passed the G.C.E. (A/L) exam, or completed an equivalent foundation course.
• Higher Diploma in English (SLQF Level 4 – 30 Credits) – Open to Diploma holders in English or those with 30 SLQF Level 3 credits in English.

Course Fees and Schedule

The Certificate Course is priced at Rs. 20,000, while the Advanced Certificate costs Rs. 25,000. The Diploma and Higher Diploma courses are offered at Rs. 32,500 and Rs. 42,000, respectively.

Classes will be conducted every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Buddhist and Pali University premises in Homagama, starting in June 2025.

Application Process

Prospective students can obtain application forms in person at the Faculty of Graduate Studies & Center for External Examinations, located at 214, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 7, or by requesting them via mail with a self-addressed stamped envelope and a bank payment receipt of Rs. 500. Online applications are also available at www.bpu.ac.lk.
