The Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education of Sri Lanka is calling for applications for 02 Undergraduate Scholarships offered by the Government of Romania for the 2026/27 academic year.

General Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for this prestigious award, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Citizenship: Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
- Educational Qualifications: Minimum of three passes at the G.C.E. (A/L) Examination in 2024 or 2025 in any stream.
- English Proficiency: Must have a “C” pass in English at G.C.E. (O/L) and an “S” pass at G.C.E. (A/L) or equivalent.
- Registration Status: Must NOT be registered or currently following a course at a state university in Sri Lanka as an internal student[cite: 11].
- Health: Must be in good health and ready to reside in Romania for the duration of the study.
Field & Medium of Study
- Fields: Any field of study is eligible, except for medical professions.
- Medium of Instruction: Romanian Language.
- Language Preparation: A preparatory year of Romanian language is included as part of the scholarship.
Scholarship Benefits (Terms of Award)

*Please note: The cost of airfare to and from Romania must be borne by the student.
Selection Process
Candidates will be shortlisted based on their Z-score and will be invited for a structured interview via email. While the Ministry of Education nominates candidates, the final selection rests solely with the Government of Romania.

Applicants must submit their applications through the official online portal. Physical documents are not required by post.
Important Notices:
- Successful candidates will no longer be considered for UGC university admission in Sri Lanka.
- Providing false information will lead to immediate disqualification.
- Declining an offer after selection may disqualify you from future Ministry scholarships.
