The Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management (SLITHM) has announced the commencement of applications for the National Tourist Guide Programme for the March 2025 intake. This full-time, five-month course aims to equip individuals with the necessary skills to excel in the expanding tourism sector.
Entry Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a Sri Lankan citizen between 21 and 60 years old.
- Have passed the G.C.E. A/L Examination in all subjects (with no more than two attempts).
- Must have English (for English Language Programme) or a recognized foreign language qualification (for Foreign Language Programme).
- Provide a certificate of language proficiency or proof of five years of residence and work in a country where the said language is spoken.
Special Eligibility Criteria: National Tourist Guide Programme – 2025
Candidates must fulfill one of the following:
- Five years of continuous service as a Licensed Chauffeur Tourist Guide.
- Completion of a Tour Guiding Program (NVQ Level 04).
- Eight years of continuous service as a Licensed Area Tourist Guide.
