The Department of Agriculture Sri Lanka has officially called for applications for the Higher National Diploma (HND) in Agricultural Production Technology (NVQ Level 6) for the Academic Years 2027–2029.
This fully-funded programme is conducted through the Sri Lanka Schools of Agriculture and offers a strong pathway for students interested in modern agricultural practices and technologies.

- Duration: 2 ½ Years (Full-Time Residential)
- 2 Years Institutional Training
- 6 Months Industrial Training (Under NAITA)

- Minimum: 18 years
- Maximum: 25 years

📘 Educational Qualifications
G.C.E. O/L Requirements
- Passed 6 subjects in not more than 2 sittings
- Must include Credit passes in:
- Sinhala or Tamil
- Mathematics
- Science
- Minimum 4 Credit passes overall
- At least an “S” pass in English
G.C.E. A/L Requirements (Any One Stream)
1. Biological Science Stream
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics or Agriculture
- Minimum 3 “S” passes in one sitting
2. Technology Stream
- Bio Systems Technology or Engineering Technology
- Science for Technology
- Agriculture
- Minimum 3 “S” passes in one sitting
📝 Selection Process
- Open Competitive Examination conducted by the Department of Agriculture
- Followed by:

- Interview (District-wise Merit Basis)
