Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Psychosocial Development

The , through its Centre for Distance & Continuing Education (CDCE), has called for applications for the Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Psychosocial Development for the upcoming intake.

This two-year programme is offered in a blended mode combining physical and online learning. The course is structured with a Diploma Level in the first year and progresses to the Higher Diploma Level in the second year.

Eligibility

Applicants must satisfy one of the following requirements:

• G.C.E. (Advanced Level) or an equivalent qualification, or
• A foundation course equivalent to SLQF Level 2 after a minimum of 12 years of schooling, followed by passing an aptitude test, or
• Accredited work experience or prior learning, together with a recognized cognitive bridging programme of at least 30 credits, as accepted by the Board of Study in Arts.

After completing the online form, applicants must submit the printed application along with a self-addressed envelope to the Senior Assistant Registrar, Centre for Distance & Continuing Education, University of Peradeniya.

The closing date for applications is 31 January 2026. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
