University of Colombo MPhil PhD Programme 2027 Overview

The Postgraduate & Mid-Career Development Unit (PGMCDU) of the Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo, has announced the call for applications for its prestigious University of Colombo MPhil PhD Programme 2027 intake. Designed to deliver doctoral-level research training, the program supports candidate scholars with dedicated supervision, regular research seminars, and academic workshops facilitated by local and international experts.

Academic activities for the new intake are scheduled to start in January 2027.

කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ කළමනාකරණ හා මුදල් පීඨයේ පශ්චාත් උපාධි හා මධ්‍ය වෘත්තීය සංවර්ධන ඒකකය මගින් 2027 ජනවාරි මාසයේ ආරම්භ වන MPhil සහ PhD පර්යේෂණ උපාධි පාඨමාලා සඳහා අයදුම්පත් කැඳවා ඇත.

கொழும்பு பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் மேலாண்மை மற்றும் நிதியியல் பீடத்தின் முதுகலை மற்றும் மத்திய தொழில் வளர்ச்சிப் பிரிவு 2027 ஜனவரியில் ஆரம்பமாகவுள்ள MPhil மற்றும் PhD பட்டப்படிப்புகளுக்கான விண்ணப்பங்களை அழைத்துள்ளது.

Eligibility Criteria & Academic Qualification Options

Applicants must demonstrate a strong command of the English language and satisfy at least one of the following four qualification options:

• Option 1: A Bachelor’s Honors Degree (SLQF 6) from a recognized university with First Class or Second Class (Upper Division) honors, accompanied by a thesis or published work acceptable to the faculty.
• Option 2: A Bachelor’s Degree (SLQF 5) from a recognized university in relevant subjects, supplemented by postgraduate qualifications containing a substantial research component or published work acceptable to the faculty.
• Option 3: A two-year Master’s Degree (SLQF 10) in a relevant subject area from a recognized university with a substantial research component.
• Option 4: Any Master’s Degree (SLQF 9) from a recognized university in a relevant discipline, accompanied by subsequent research acceptable to the faculty.

How to Apply & Application Procedure

Admission is competitive and involves evaluating the applicant’s credentials, academic references, and a selection interview.

1. Download Application: Obtain the official form directly from the faculty portal at https://mgmt.cmb.ac.lk/mphil-phd-programme.
2. Pay Registration Fee: Pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 5,000 at any People’s Bank branch credited to the Main Collection Account of the University of Colombo (Reference No. 312100600001). Alternatively, make an online card payment via https://pay.cmb.ac.lk.
3. Submit via Email: Email the completed application form along with the PDF payment receipt to [email protected] prior to the deadline on October 31, 2026.
