North Western Province Agricultural Extension Technical Assistant Vacancies 2026

The North Western Province (NWP) Public Service Commission has published an official gazette notification inviting applications from eligible male and female candidates for 40 vacancies in the post of Technical Assistant (Agriculture Extension) Grade III within the Department of Agriculture.

Recruitment will be conducted through an open competitive examination held in Kurunegala, followed by a document verification and physical fitness interview for shortlisted candidates.

வடமேல் மாகாண அரச சேவை ஆணைக்குழுவினால் விவசாயத் திணைக்களத்தின் விவசாய விரிவாக்க தொழில்நுட்ப உதவியாளர் (தரம் III) பதவியின் 40 வெற்றிடங்களுக்கான விண்ணப்பங்கள் கோரப்பட்டுள்ளன. தகுதியுடைய விண்ணப்பதாரர்கள் 2026 நவம்பர் 06 ஆம் திகதிக்கு முன்னர் தமது விண்ணப்பங்களை அனுப்பி வைக்க வேண்டும்.

Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualifications

• Residency: Applicants must be permanent residents of the North Western Province for at least 03 consecutive years prior to the closing date.
• Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18 and 35 years old as of November 06, 2026.
• General Educational Qualifications: Must have passed the G.C.E. (O/L) examination in 6 subjects in no more than two sittings, including Language (the medium applied for), Mathematics, and Science.
• Technical Qualifications (Fulfill at least one):
  • A two-year Diploma in Agriculture from a recognized state-approved institute; OR
  • NVQ Level 05 certificate in the relevant field per Public Administration Circular 01/2012; OR
  • An equivalent qualification recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) and the Sri Lanka Engineering Council/Technological Services.

Salary Scale & Service Conditions

• Salary Scale: MT-1-2025: Rs. 50,090 – 10×540 – 11×630 – 10×1,010 – 10×1,190 – Rs. 84,420/= (per Public Administration Circular 10/2025).
• Service Terms: The post is permanent, pensionable, and subject to a 3-year probationary period.

1. Pay the examination fee of Rs. 1,200/= at any Divisional Secretariat in the North Western Province under Revenue Head 2003-02-13. Securely attach the original receipt (NWPMC 02) to the application.
2. Prepare the application form strictly using the prescribed specimen format published in the official gazette notice.
3. Mark “Open Competitive Examination for Recruitment to Grade III Technical Assistant (Agri Extension) – 2026” on the top left corner of the envelope.
