B.Sc. Degree Programs Special Intake 2025- University of Peradeniya

The Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Peradeniya has announced admissions under special provisions for the B.Sc. Degree Programs in Agricultural Technology & Management, Animal Science & Fisheries, and Food Science & Technology for the academic year 2023/2024.

The special intake is aimed at enrolling students with prior experience in the agricultural sector, providing them with an opportunity to pursue higher education. The degree programs span four years and require students to pass an entrance examination conducted by the university.

Eligibility Criteria and Programs Offered

1. B.Sc. Honours in Agricultural Technology & Management
   • A two-year diploma in Agriculture or Animal Production from recognized institutions.
   • G.C.E. Advanced Level with passes in three relevant subjects.
   • G.C.E. Ordinary Level with six passes, including credit passes in Science and Mathematics.
   • Five years of work experience in agriculture-related fields.
2. B.Sc. Honours in Animal Science & Fisheries
   • Similar qualifications as the Agricultural Technology & Management program, with a focus on Animal Production.
   • Course fee: Rs. 100,000 per year.
3. B.Sc. Honours in Food Science & Technology
   • G.C.E. Advanced Level with passes in three science subjects.
   • Five years of work experience in the relevant field.
   • Successful completion of the university’s entrance exam.
   • Course fee: Rs. 80,000 per year.

Application Process and Deadlines

Applications are available at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya. Interested candidates should submit completed applications to the Senior Assistant Registrar, Faculty of Agriculture, on or before March 2025. A payment of Rs. 1,000 should be made to the university’s designated bank account for application processing.

The entrance examination will be held in May 2025, and all programs will be conducted in English. The maximum number of attempts for the entrance examination is two, and applicants should be over 24 years of age at the time of application.
