The Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) has announced the opening of applications for the B.Ed (Hons) in Natural Sciences – Levels 05 and 06 for the academic year 2026/2027.
This programme is designed for candidates seeking professional qualifications in science education and aims to strengthen subject knowledge and pedagogical competencies in the field of Natural Sciences.
Admission Requirements
For Level 5
Applicants must have:
- Completed B.Sc / B.Ed (Natural Sciences) at OUSL with passes in all courses (60 credits) at Levels 3 and 4,
or - Obtained a B.Sc (Natural Sciences) degree from a recognized university,
or - Obtained a Diploma in Science from the Faculty of Natural Sciences, OUSL.
For Level 6
Applicants must have:
- Passed all courses (30 credits) at Level 5 of the B.Ed (Hons) in Natural Sciences Degree Programme,
or - Been exempted from Level 5 of the programme and passed all courses (60 credits) at Levels 3 and 4 in science courses.
Exemptions
Candidates who have completed a 3-year National Diploma in Teaching (Science/Mathematics) from a National College of Education are eligible for exemption from Level 5.
