Key Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must fulfill all the following requirements on or before the closing date of November 02, 2026
- Citizenship & Character: Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka possessing excellent moral character.
- Age Limit: Must be between 25 and 35 years of age as of November 02, 2026.
- Health & Fitness: Must possess sufficient physical and mental fitness to serve in any part of Sri Lanka.
- G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L): Passed at least one (01) subject in a single sitting (excluding the Common General Test and General English).
- G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L): Passed in six (06) subjects in a single sitting, including Credit Passes (C) in:
- Sinhala, Tamil, or English Language (which determines the examination language medium)
- Mathematics
- Two (02) other subjects
Selection Method & Examination Structure
Recruitment will be conducted in two consecutive evaluation stages managed by the Department of Examinations:
1. Written Competitive Examination (200 Marks Total)
Candidates must achieve a minimum qualifying mark of 40% for each paper
- General Knowledge (100 Marks | 1 Hour): Multiple-choice paper covering hostel administration, student welfare, discipline, health, safety, and institutional security.
- Intelligence Test (100 Marks | 1 Hour): Multiple-choice paper assessing logical reasoning, numerical capability, analytical skills, and general intelligence.
2. Fitness Assessment Interview (100 Marks Total)
Candidates shortlisted based on written examination merit (up to twice the total number of vacancies) will be called for the interview stage:
- Additional Educational & O/L / A/L Qualifications
- Computer Literacy & IT Certificates/Diplomas (Up to 15 Marks)
- Language Proficiency in English or other languages (Up to 15 Marks)
- Professional Presentation & Personality Evaluation (30 Marks total; including a maximum 3-minute oral presentation)

- Overseeing student welfare, residential discipline, health monitoring, and safety within institutional hostels.
- Inspecting food preparation, kitchen hygiene, stock registers, and daily provisions.
- Managing public property, student equipment, water/electricity maintenance, and resident entry/exit logs.
