The Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education has announced that there is no necessity to revise the dates of the 2026 G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination, stating that students have already been provided with sufficient time to complete their studies and prepare for the examination.
The clarification was issued following requests from several parties seeking a further postponement of the examination, which is currently scheduled to commence on 10 August 2026.
According to the Ministry, guidelines issued by the National Institute of Education (NIE) indicate that approximately 300 school days are required to complete the Advanced Level syllabus. The Ministry noted that candidates sitting for the 2026 examination will have received 343 school days of academic instruction from the commencement of studies up to 7 August 2026.
The statement further highlighted that students appearing for the examination for the second and third time will have had a preparation period of four months and ten days between the release of the previous A/L examination results and the start of the 2026 examination.
Based on these considerations, the Ministry emphasized that adequate time has been provided for all candidates to prepare for the examination and therefore there is no requirement to alter the scheduled examination dates.
The 2026 G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination is set to begin on 10 August 2026 as previously announced.
