In honor of its 75th anniversary, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has announced a national art competition titled “Through Your Eyes,” inviting citizens to creatively depict the institution’s impact on the economy and society. The competition aims to showcase diverse perspectives on CBSL’s role in areas such as price stability, financial system resilience, digital payments, sustainable finance, and financial inclusion.
Call for Creative Expression
The CBSL encourages artists and students to reflect on how the Central Bank has shaped their lives or the nation through art. Whether through the lens of a student, entrepreneur, or everyday citizen, participants are asked to bring their unique visions to life using traditional mediums like pencil, charcoal, ink, watercolor, acrylic, oil paint, pastel, or mixed media. Notably, digital or AI-generated artworks will not be accepted.
Competition Categories
- School Category: Open to students in Grades 10–13.
- Open Category: For artists aged 18 and above.
Submission Guidelines
- Artwork Size: A3 only.
- Deadline: 25 June 2025.
- How to Submit: Deliver entries to any CBSL Regional Office or the Head Office in Colombo, or mail them to the CBSL Head Office.
- Rules: Only one original entry per person is permitted.
Exhibition and Celebration
Selected artworks will be featured in a curated exhibition as part of CBSL’s 75th-anniversary celebrations, offering a vibrant visual narrative of the institution’s legacy and future aspirations.
