The Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government has announced the General and Structured Interviews for candidates shortlisted for recruitment to Grade III of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service (SLAS) under the 2021 (2024) Open Competitive Examination.
The interviews will be conducted on February 8, 9, 15, and 16, 2025, at the ministry premises in Independence Square, Colombo 07. The process is carried out with the approval of the Public Service Commission and in accordance with Section 10.2.6 of the SLAS Service Minute. Eligible candidates will receive official interview invitations via registered post, specifying their respective date and time slots.
Candidates should note that appearing for the interview does not guarantee selection. Final appointments will be based on merit, determined by the combined scores of the written examination and structured interview.
General Interview Requirements
Applicants must bring the originals and certified photocopies of the following documents:
- Birth certificate, degree certificate, and academic transcript
- National Identity Card
- Affidavit (if there is a name change)
- Certificate of residence and character certificate from the local Grama Niladhari (Form D.S. 4)
- Interview invitation letter
Structured Interview Criteria
Candidates will be evaluated out of 25 marks, allocated as follows:
- Management skills: 10 marks
- Leadership qualities: 5 marks
- Communication skills: 5 marks
- Personality: 5 marks
During the interview, candidates will be given a scenario related to social, cultural, economic, or political issues to assess their problem-solving and communication abilities. Additionally, their overall demeanor and responses throughout the interview will contribute to the final evaluation.
