The Department of Examinations has announced that the Efficiency Bar Examination for Officers in Grade II and Grade III of the Sri Lanka Technological Service – 2019 II (2026) will be conducted in June 2026 in Colombo. The examination is organized in accordance with the approved service minute of the Sri Lanka Technological Service.
Application Process
Applications must be submitted online through the official website of the Department of Examinations.
- Online application opening: 13 March 2026 – 9.00 a.m.
- Closing date: 10 April 2026 – 9.00 p.m.
Eligibility
- Only officers who have already been promoted to Grade II of the Sri Lanka Technological Service by the closing date are eligible to sit for the Second Efficiency Bar Examination.
- Officers currently in Grade III are not eligible to apply for the second Efficiency Bar examination.
Examination Fee
- First attempt: No examination fee.
- Subsequent attempts: Rs. 250 per subject, payable through the online payment system using approved banking methods.
Examination Structure
Grade II Efficiency Bar Examination
The examination consists of two question papers:
- Establishments Code – 2 hours (100 marks)
- Financial Regulations – 2 hours (100 marks)
The syllabus includes key chapters related to administrative procedures, government conduct and discipline, financial regulations, procurement procedures, and management of public funds.
Grade III Efficiency Bar Examination
This examination also includes two question papers:
- Establishments Code and Procedural Rules of the Public Service Commission – 2 hours (100 marks)
