The Committee on Public Finance (CoPF) of the Parliament of Sri Lanka is now accepting applications from qualified Sri Lankan citizens for several key consultancy positions. These appointments are aimed at strengthening the research and analytical capacity of the committee in its oversight of public finance and economic governance.
Available Vacancies:
Senior Consultant – 01 Position
Salary & Benefits:
- Monthly salary: Rs. 120,000/-
- Transport allowance: Rs. 50,000/-
- Fuel provisions according to government circulars
Age Limit: Not more than 65 years as of the closing date.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance on matters referred to the CoPF by Parliament.
- Prepare detailed analytical reports with key recommendations.
- Assess economic and fiscal assumptions in national budgets.
- Forecast revenue, expenditure, debt, and structural deficits.
- Supervise junior consultants and oversee their work.
- Contribute to interim and final reports submitted to Parliament.
- Participate in seminars, workshops, and roundtable discussions.
Required Qualifications:
- MSc in Economics, Public Finance Management, Public Policy, Public Administration, or a related discipline (PhD/MPhil will be an added advantage).
- Proven research, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in English and Sinhala; knowledge of Tamil is a plus.
- Experience with legislative bodies or parliamentary committees is desirable.
- Prior work with government institutions or international development agencies is advantageous.
Junior Consultant – 03 Positions
Salary & Benefits:
- Monthly salary: Rs. 88,000/-
- Transport allowance: Rs. 50,000/-
- Fuel provisions as per government regulations
Age Limit: Not more than 45 years as of the closing date.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze data from think tanks and research bodies.
- Draft briefing notes, background documents, and economic reports.
- Analyze fiscal risks and assumptions tied to CoPF’s work.
- Support budgetary forecasting and policy analysis.
- Assist the Senior Consultant in documentation and session summaries in English and Sinhala.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with a Class in Economics, Public Finance Management, Public Policy, or a related field (Postgraduate Diploma is an added qualification).
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience.
- Competency in economic research and fiscal analysis.
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in English and Sinhala/Tamil.
- Experience with legislative processes or committees is considered an asset.
