TRINCOMALEE — The Eastern Provincial Public Service Commission has officially announced an open competitive examination for recruitment to the Department of Inland Revenue. Applications are now being invited from eligible Sri Lankan citizens to fill vacancies for the positions of Provincial Revenue Officer (Grade II) and Provincial Evaluator (Grade III).
Vacancy Details and Compensation
According to the official advertisement, there are currently three total vacancies available:
- Provincial Revenue Officer Grade II: 01 vacancy.
- Provincial Evaluator Grade III: 02 vacancies.
These positions are permanent and pensionable. Salary scales are governed by Public Administration Circular 10/2025:
- Revenue Officer: Placed under the MN5-2025 scale with a starting salary of 58,660/-.
- Evaluator: Placed under the SL1-2025 scale.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be Sri Lankan citizens with good character and sound physical and mental health.
- Age Limit: Candidates must not be over 35 years of age as of March 20, 2026.
- Residency: While open to all citizens, priority is given to permanent residents of the Eastern Province. Local residents must have lived in the province for at least three continuous years within the six years immediately preceding the application deadline.+1
Educational Requirements:
- Revenue Officer (Grade II): Requires a degree from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), or being an Attorney-at-Law. Alternatively, candidates may hold intermediate qualifications from CA Sri Lanka, CIMA (UK), or a Higher National Diploma in Commerce/Management.+1
- Evaluator (Grade III): Requires a first or second-class degree from a UGC-recognized university, or being an Attorney-at-Law, or holding a Chartered/Management Accountant (CIMA-UK) qualification.
