Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychosocial Support 2025/26 – University of Colombo

The Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Colombo, has officially announced that applications are now open for the Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychosocial Support (PgDCP) 2025/26. This weekend programme is designed for graduates and professionals who aspire to gain specialized knowledge in psychosocial care and counselling.

The one-year diploma, conducted through onsite lectures every Saturday (9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.), will commence in December 2025. Students will benefit from both theoretical and practical training, with the programme aiming to prepare them to design and manage psychosocial interventions, provide counselling, and address mental health challenges in diverse community settings.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for the programme, applicants must:

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area, OR
• Possess any other degree or equivalent qualification recognized by the University of Colombo, OR
• Demonstrate professional or equivalent qualifications approved by the Faculty Board and Senate.

Applicants must also pass a selection test/interview and show proficiency in the English language.
